Hans Wilsdorf and his brother-in-law Alfred Davis established Wilsdorf & Davis Ltd. in 1905 in London, assembling en marketing watches using works imported from Switzerland. In a time when men still wore large pocket watches and “wristlet” watches were considered feminine, Wilsdorf staked his company’s future on the men’s wristwatch.

Trademarking the name Rolex in 1908 and renaming the company Rolex Watch Co. Ltd. in 1915, the company focused on making wristwatches both manly and fashionable. Operating from an office in Geneva and a headquarters in Switzerland, the iconic five-spiked crown was trademarked in 1925 and is still a well-known symbol of prestigiousness in contemporary life.

Iconic pieces include the Submarine, Dayjust, Day-date and Oyster-Perpetual and many more. Being the ultimate epitome of a luxury timepiece.
